“The open road is a beckoning, a strangeness,

a place

where a man can lose himself.”

William Moon

Scribbles from 2006 Diary

I was cleaning my cupboard today and from between the books, came out a diary in which I had randomly scribbled the following notes around four years back. The notes were written keeping in mind the rise in regionalism and religionalism at that time. Four years down the line, it is sad that these seem even more deeper in context than ever before.

"Mankind has evolved over the years in such a way that Man has forgotten to be Kind. We live in a world divided by man made borders, religions and differences. But what we need to ask ourselves is:

Does the rays of the Sun stop at the border? No.

Does the moonlight get divided at the border? No.

Does music stop at the border? No.

Does the wind, the rains, the birds, the rivers, the quakes acknowledge borders,? No.

Does death distinguishes Individuals based on religion, birthplace? No.

What do we learn from all these? Things were never meant to be divided in the first place. Our paths of the journey may be different…but the destination is the same. The relations we share with our fellow passengers can make this journey…a dream to cherish or a nightmare to fear..May peace prevail.."

Today, looking back I wonder what if we were all citizens of a home with no walls,no borders, no countries, and no divisions. It is the Biggest 'What If" today...

Peace and Cheers,

J.K.
